Small warning. If the e-mail is spam, the bounce will often result in a
"addressee unknown" e-mail being returned to you.

Hello All,

I am in the process of writing a simple e-mail program to receive, send and
log e-mails using a connections to smtp and pop3.

I would like to know how I can bounce or reject e-mails so that they look
genuinely rejected by the mail server. Is there an easy way of doing this?
How does e-mail bouncing software such as "Mail Washer" do this. I have
looked on the web already and cannot seem to get an answer.

If anyone has done this before I would like to know how they achieved this,
so I can incorporate this functionality into my program.

Many thanks in advance,

Richard Latter

PS. If anyone would like to get some e-mail bouncing software, I recommend
www.mailwasher.net
