There are a bunch of data compression libraries out there. Try a google
search on "c++ compression library". The DCMicro site also indicates
that their libraries are available for 32-bit windows, amongst a host of
other platforms.

Comprlib is one that could be of help. There are quite a few available.
Try a koders search:

comprlib has support for several compression schemes. There are a handful
of other libraries to choose from. Try a koders search:
