Thank you, Neil Convert the string to an int first, then take the upper and lower bytes. See the FAQ: http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/misc-technical-issues.html#faq-39.2 Note that you may need to prepend "0x" onto the string since it is in hex.
